I'd like to donate my 2 cents on some additional features I think might be good additions to z's animation controls . .

1) Allow for GOTO a frame number in the animation palette.. .currently there is a box there that shows the fram number, but you can't input a frame number (and at least on the mac version it seems that clicking in this area somehow zooms out the Timeline resolution, as if the 'hot spot' is extended too far beyond the zoom in icon to its right (mac version only?)), likewise a similar feature for the Time box would be nice...

2) Have the option to Loop or Not Loop the animation in the animation palette... often times when looking at an animation from within Z (using quickdraw/OpenGL) it gets to the end and autoloops to the front..

3) Somehow separate / lock the ability to move the keyframes in the TimeLine window... Often times, when spacing out the keyframes in the timeline, instead of grabbing and sliding the key, Z winds up moving the current frame marker to its location.. at high screen resolutions its hard to click and drag directly on the little diamond to move the marker

4) When editing a large / complex Spline path in the model window (moving eyepoints, centers of interest, etc) the window can become quite cluttered with path info (not to mention a sluggish redraw with the splines)..
if somehow one could visually separate the different parts of an animation path (eyepoint path, that plane at the end of the eyepoint keyframes, center of interest path, etc) either by a toggle on off or by a difference in colors, it would be much easier to grab and edit an animation path..

5) Perhaps a larger Animation Palette which could begin to stack graphs / controls for an animation path (as in the Custom Velocity options)... not unlike Electric Image's velocity control window...

Kevin,

We think these suggestions would be good additions to our animation feature. We shall pass them on to our developers.
