Here are a few projects I've been working on. Built in FormZ, rendered in Maxwell, with Photoshop post-work. Sushi Restaurant

Nice maxwell renderings! Just wandering, are using a mac or windows on these? I guess I am wandering if the problem with the black bands in rendering with maxwell is limited to windows. Thanks, |

Thanks. They were created and exported from FZ on a mac. But I actually rendered them on a PC. The mac was too slow. But I made some tests on the mac and didn't notice the black bands you speak of. Perhaps do a binary search -split the model in half and try rendering one half to see if it is possible to isolate the problem. Then continue splitting the problematic part in half. It is really quite a quick way of finding out if you have a problematic material or object. Do you get this also with new files? Have you tried resetting the preferences to the default settings. |

Thanks Peder, Next Limit has told me that the black bands are a known issue in maxwell 2.0 up to the latest version, and that they are trying to correct the problem with a patch. I guess I was curious if that problem was dependent on the OS. I have had the black bands only twice out of maybe 10 renderings in maxwell. I have tried everything and nothing I could think of and nothing seems to work. Apparently not even Next Limit knows. Oh well, I guess I'll wait for the patch. Thanks for your suggestion though. |
