Does anyone know of quick ways to make animated gifs. When I spent a few extra hours too many, second guessing what to click next, inside Adobe Image Ready, I can make an animation. Is there an easier work path from formZ? The nice thing with gifs is the improved compression quality for vector-spline-intricacy. I realize most of you are into photo-realism, yet there may be some users still into primal geometry.

you could render an animation to QuickTime (*.mov). This movie can be opened in ImageReady as image sequence/layered images. It's just two clicks more to export an animated GIF from here.
After Effects is able to render movies to GIFs, too.
