i want to do light and shadows throughout a say in different seasons are studies for evaluation od sunlight availability, form-z can do that?

if yes, would you mind tell me how to do that.

Charles,

Yes formZ can easily do this. You specify your location on the Earth, and then the time and date from when you want your study to start, and where you want your study to end. You will find the "Sun Animation" extension under the "Extensions" menu.

You may also specify a sun location by setting a distant light to use "Light Direction from the Sun" in the Light parameters dialog for that light. This would be for rendering still images at specific moments in time.

Hi Charles,

One of the plugins in our "Lighting Collection" allows a more intuitive approach to sun studies in formZ. With it, you can interactively 'travel' though time (by moving the mouse) and observe how the sun will affect your structure throughout the day, or over the course of a year.
