hello

6.0.4 MAC AND PC

we seem to be getting some rather wildly fluctuating file sizes
when saving the same fmz drawing files
The files are relatively small scale simple geometry. Each save provides a totally different file size
ranging from 23mb- 86mb-back to 8mb approx the only differences between saves are minor (really) and incremental file names.

any ideas.

Marc,

There is a certain amount of "clean-up at start-up" that occurs. (See THIS Link for more details...) Could this be the cause?

Or are you Saving Undos in the file?

hello

in both instances (pc and mac) undo option is set to save unlimited undos
therefore i would imagine this accounts for some of the fluctuations but as massively as almost 80-100mb in some cases? suppose there is alot of info to save even with basic manipulations- you think this is 'normal' then with this setting if so we may adjust to limited undos.

thanks

m

Marc,

Saving Undos in a file can create a large file, and is probably only a good option for small files. Personally, I would leave the Unlimited Undos ON, and turn the Save in File OFF.
