I don't know if it's possible, but could the bounding box for symbols in wireframe mode be more visually representative of the symbol shape it replaces (so it wouldn't be called a box anymore!). It's just that, when I have a large number of different symbols with this selection turned on (bounding box) for speed in a large file, I tend to get a little lost, say for example, different trees as opposed to a similar sized objects. I know it's possible to use a lower res' symbol and replace later, but I'm too lazy....!
A resolution slider just for wire frame or OGL would be great, with the option to render the simplified shape.
Alternatively an option to use the layer override to display symbols as a bounding box would help too...

Yes it's a nice idea.
There something like that in Maxwell Studio. (MX studio is painfull with huge models).
