John, I've tried this a few times and when I input -ml to the command line it crashes Formz. I've only been successful setting up multilight in MaxwellStudio....

One way is to start rendering and when in Maxwell
press the stop icon. Under Render Options/MXI check
the multilight box and hit the play icon.

Cheers

John

I use it exactly as John and Des describe. I go to the multilight tab and adjust the intensities as the render proceeds.

Note that it is a known issue that multilight and autoexposure do not work together, it's one or the other.

Does anyone know how to create a multilight animation? I've tried a couple of things, but I've gotten none to work.

Also, how do you suspend a render for continuing later? Is it true this is disabled?

Thanks in advance if anyone can help!

I think you have to set this in Maxwell Studio (?)

Gary,

You can use the multilight from
* Formz with command line -ml
* from maxwell render with checking the correct button
* from Studio with th correct option

This should work fine with the latest plugin.

Hope it helps

found the problem. I took 6 of my lights sources and joined them—multilight does not work. separate them and it works.

I was looking for a way to control many lights on one slider in multilight, thus the joining.

Gary,

If you have in example aphysical sky + a system of lights made with severals smal plane joined, you shoud obtain two cursors in the multilight equalizer.

It could be better to have a FMZ scene posted here to check if all work fine with its Maxwell transaltion...

Let us know if you need additional help.

Hey,
I am trying out the Maxwell demo before I buy it. I have assigned some surfaces with some preset Maxwell settings that I downloaded. I assigned them to my objects. When I do a Maxwell render, it reverts back to the old renderzone material. Why does it do this? Also, how much does it cost?

Jean-Luc

I have experimented further and found that:

1. as you described, a physical sky and small planes joined does obtain 2 sliders in multilight.

2. small planes joined and no physical sky, multilight does not work in maxwell.

anyone care to confirm?

Thanks,

Gary

Gary,

Yes I confirm.

That's why when I've tried to make a night rendering with multilight enable I've choosen a night hour with the pysical sky.

I think ther is something wrong here, or at less not easy to work.
