Hi Zweb, Everybody.

First I have to congratulate you with the very long awaited realease of Version 7! I take it that you are all very releaved with this spectacular redesign of the program user Interface and technical structure and all! Very impressive.

My main interest is of course in the quality of the images and renderings we can produce with Form-Z. Can you tell something about the developments in that area? The last main upgrade was the very much appreciated addition of Ambient Occlusion and Final Gather, in I think 2007. I know some things are said or asked before, but since the pressure is of regarding the Form•7 version, and already 5 years further in time I'm curious what is realistic to expect in the render possibilities.

Some things that could greatly improve Form-Z in that area:

-Fresnel like techniques in materials/camera's
-Luminance/Glow in materials
-Render to different composite layers (alpha rendering has still some problems)
-Particles
-Animation in General (physics, collision detection)

I Really hope you can tell me something on the thoughts of Form-Z (and Lightworks) regarding these subjects. I'm also curious what other users want to see in the render department!

Kind Regards
Rudy Daverveld

I have been extremely pleased with the interface and modelling changes made in 7 and have found that I'm able to work way more efficiently and am able to create better models due to those changes.

Although, I would also be interesting in hearing what/if improvements we'll be seeing to the default RenderZone rendering capabilities as well. I know that Maxwell is and option and that Vray at some point is suppose to be an option, but some improvements to the base rendering engine would be welcome. The abilities outlined by Rudy would be a great addition, and some speed improvements would be amazing too.

I know that most of this is up to Lightworks but any information on that front would be appreciated.

Hi Zweb,

Is there nothing to say about this? Or are you still gathering some information?

Kind regards

Rudy
