the script (and some others) does not work with components, or am i wrong? would be very nice to have this updated...

Markus,

What exactly are you trying to select? (Does right clicking on your Component and choosign Select All on Same Layer, Select All with Same Material, or Select All Component Instances do what you want? Or does the Selection Criterion Palette allow you to select what you want?)

for example: i would like to select objects in the scene having same volume as the selected one. the select criterion palette is not giving the same functionality as this script.

Markus,

Since Components are automatically grouped -- and this script only works on individual objects, it will not work on Components in general. However, if you want, you can go to the Edit Menu: Unlock Components, then select an object and run the script if you like.
