Is the load image dialog really necessary. Could the information and options not be available directly?

That's a reasonable idea, we will see if this can be adjusted for the future...

If you decide to change it maybe make images draggable directly from the OS onto the load file icon or even directly into the surface styles palette? Also Draggable as a group?
It would also be nice to be able to select a surface style by dragging it into the the image load button of the billboard tool. That way a whole lot of people could first be set up as surface styles by dragging the images into the surface style palette. (I previously suggested FZ would use the alpha channel as transparency map if present in the image file)
Then a scene could be populated with people using the billboard tool by selecting the persons already available from the surface styles.
BTW the align with view option of the billboard tool should probably be a subchoice from the perpendicular to plane option, no? Or if not the perp to plane setting should be the default for the align with view?

If Peder is suggesting that FZ automatically attribute an alpha (when present in an image file) to the transparency map, I am all for it!
speaking of accelerating SS editing:
Be great if there was a reverse surface style function wuth the Maxwell plugin, so that a loaded mxm can send it's image, bump, and transparency image files to make the FZ style automatically. Of course, I will end up sooner or later with a series of FZ templates that have sets of Surface Styles with all hte image files attributed in both FZ and Maxwell, but still it would be cool to have that function...
