Hope someone can help me out here with a rounding problem I'm having. Attached is the .fmz file of the shape I'm trying to round the edges of. No matter what, it won't work after I extrude it. FYI, I built this shape in Adobe Illustrator and imported it into form Z. I also tried building the shape directly in FormZ, but that didn't work either.

Is the problem because the angles are too tight? There has to be a way to do this...

Zoom in on the top corner fx. it's curved and has a loop.
Trace it with better logic!

Hi Scott,

Welcome to the forum!

As Petter notes, you do need to have clean geometry in order to execute operations such as rounding, since tiny facets -- or crossing ones will prevent the rounding from completing properly.

Please let us know if you have any further questions, we would be glad to help. :-)

Interesting - thanks guys, but I'm still stumped. The example I attached I admit may not have been clean (as I imported it from Illustrator) but I must have built the same thing 5 times directly in formZ as clean as I possibly could with no luck.

Let me give it another shot, and I'll post up the fmz file if I still can't get it.

Scott,

One other tip would be to round all the segments (or the face) all at once -- rather than rounding one edge -- then another -- and another...

Alright, I got it to work. Thanks again for your help guys - I spent some time to redraw the shape as cleanly as possible and it rounded perfectly after that.
