Hi, been a long time since I visited the forum, so long I forgot my old username and password! Anyway, I'm using Form-Z 6.7.3 and I'm having a problem with sketch render when the Isometric view is selected (JPG is attached). It only screws up like this when in Isometric view, all other views render fine.

Also, when holding shift to select multiple objects, the tool and other palettes will suddenly gang up in the middle of the screen. I can get the palettes back to their normal position by reloading my preferences file, but it's strange. It seems to happen when I take too long to select an item, but I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it.

Any ideas?

Dear Richard,

This could be a known issue with the isometric render type. Try to determine if perhaps you have an object way out in space (ie. far for the origin). If not then, are you able to create a Shaded Render that will fit your requirements?

We have not heard of palettes bunching at the center of the screen. What is your version of Windows?

Thanks, I'll check for objects off in space somewhere and get back to you. This was an AutoCAD drawing that someone else did that I imported, so there may be some issues due to *that*. I'll try a render with a native Form-Z file and see what happens.

As for the palettes, is there some way other than a screen shot to show you that this happens?

OS is Windows 7 Professional 6.1.7601 SP 1 Build 7601.

Richard,

Here is a test to try to correct the problem with the "bunching".

Save any open files as required and quit form•Z.

Follow this path: Computer/Win-7(C) (or your system harddrive) /users/Your Logon/Appdata/Roaming/AutoDessys/form•Z 6.5

Note: AppData can be a hidden file, you may need to show hidden files and folders in your view menu to see this.

Rename this form•Z 6.5 folder and then go and re-launch form•Z.

Does this take care of the problem?

I renamed the "form-Z 6.5" folder to "OLD form-Z 6.5", and thus far the palettes are behaving.

I'll get back to you regarding sketch render and possible objects off in space in my file.

Thanks for your help so far, you guys continue to offer the best tech support in the business.

Seems as if the sketch render isometric problem occurs with old project files as well. I couldn't find any stray pieces out past the extents of the objects in any of the project files, including the one from the opening post.

Richard,

Can you please zip and send a small file that shows this problem to support@formz.com? We would like to take a look at one of these files here.
