Hey there, I'm having a bit of an odd issue... FormZ 8 has started hanging upon launch right after lunch.

I had an unexpected power outage this morning, since then FormZ gets to the point of creating a new blank document, then hangs. FormZ 7 won't boot at all... It just quits over and over...

Is there a preference file I need to delete somewhere?

Hi David,

If you reset formZ to factory defaults, does this fix it for you? You can do this by Quitting formZ and renaming the autodessys folder. (Just add an X to the end of the name of the folder.)

On Windows, this is located in C:\users\[USER]\AppData\Roaming\

(Note that [USER] is the name with which you log onto your computer, and if you don't see the App Data folder, you can show this by going to the Windows Explorer: Tools Menu: Folder Options: View Tab -- and choosing Show Hidden Files, and clicking OK.)

On a Mac, this is located in HOME: Library: Preferences.

(Note that HOME refers to Hard Drive: Users: your login name, and if you don't see a Library folder in this location, you can access it by going to the Finder: Go Menu, holding down the Option key -- and it will appear below HOME.)

Don't forget to quit formZ first, and when you relaunch formZ it will automatically recreate a new autodessys folder with default settings. Then if you decide you no longer need the old autodessysX folder, you can delete that at any time.

Does this help?

If not, what operating system are you using (and did anything change while you were at lunch)?

Ok... I'm running OSx 10.10 Yosemite... I've gone down into my library/preferences folder and can't find the Autodessys folder to save my life.

Could this be related to Yosemite?

Hi David,

Did you go to the FINDER: Go Menu, and hold down the Option key to get to the Library folder?

wow... ok, that worked. I couldn't wrap my head around that at first. You'd think they wouldn't make it so convoluted to get to the preferences folder (and name other folders the same thing...)

Thanks for the help!
