i'm having lots troubles after upgrading all my macs to leopard when using formz's file dialogs. many times i have to force quit FZ because there's no way out of a closed dialog loop. try for example the underlay file dialog... will we get an update patch soon, which fixes those issues? markus |

Markus, There are a number of bugs with LEOPARD that affect formZ, but are caused by Leopard, and not formZ. (If we could fix these, we would have done so already.) We have forwarded these problems to Apple, and they have been reported by many other companies as well. Hopefully Apple will fix these soon. thank you, i did see those, but i'm unable to load any underlay file, currently, even if i'm following these instructions "2. Sometimes dialogs (such as Save As or Print) may be unresponsive. In this case, switching to any other application (such as clicking on the Desktop) and then back to the dialog should make the dialog responsive again. However, if you click on a button that brings up a sub-dialog WHILE the dialog is unresponsive, the application may again become "unavailable" -- again requiring a Force Quit. " so far i had no trouble using other applications (and i'm using a lot of them), but as for now i do not see any other solution: i have to install tiger again on another partition for FZ. markus PS. forgot to specify: using a macpro 8 core with OSX 10.5.2. btw., the problem is not with every file dialog (in any case here your tips worked), but with loading an underlay specifically. Markus, We have found that loading the Xerces Frameworks associated with the SketchUp or DAE plugins (from Google) can make this problem more likely to occur. If you have these loaded, then when you activate the Underlay command, you should first click on the Desktop, and then back to formZ. Then your Underlay Dialog should be responsive, and then you should be able to load the desired image. Does this help? And if you want to use Leopard and do not need these Frameworks, you may want to remove them when they are not in use to make this problem less of an issue... ZWebTech Support |

Gentlemen, We are pleased to announce that we have found a work-around to the Leopard bug that prevents all cores from being utilized when Raytracing certain files under OS X 10.5. We have also found a work-around for printing to most larger formats, and you should encounter unresponsive dialogs much more infrequently -- if ever. These "fixes" have been released with the formZ 6.6 Update. ZWebTech Support |
