To allocate more than 4Gb of RAM during rendering you’ll need to be running on a
64bit operating system and using a 64 bit version of form•Z. On Mac OS you’ll need
to install formZ 8.x or later. On Windows platform you can install both a 32bit
version and 64bit version of form•Z.
Click on the Estimate Memory Usage button in RenderZone Display Options palette
for an approximation of the memory required for your rendering.
Keep image map resolution as small as possible for images loaded for Materials,
Billboards, Underlays, Backgrounds, etc., see Tip #106.
Minimize the use of Soft Shadows that consume memory. For information on shadows
see Tip #110.
If using the Glass Accurate or Simple Glass Reflection shader do not assign a
Transparency shader. The transparency shader is not needed because the transparency
is controlled inside the Glass Reflection parameters. This dual transparency can
cause excessive rendering time for these types of materials.
